21st February celebration at CDF School
21st February is a memorable day in our national history. It is observed as International Mother Language Day and Shaheed Dibosh every year throughout the country in remembrance of the martyrs of language movement of 1952. We pay tribute to the martyrs who laid down their lives to establish Bangla as a state language in undivided Pakistan in 1952.
Like every year this year the students of Camellia Duncan Foundation School (CDFS) celebrated 21st February with due respect. At the early hours of the day all students along with teachers went to the Shaheed Minar in barefoot processions, singing mourning songs. On this occasion, on behalf of Abu SUbhan Welfare Trust (ASWT), headmaster, teachers and all students placed separate flower wreathes at the Shaheed Minar . Beside these, in remembrance of language martyrs, all kept quiet for one minutes and prayed for them.
The teacher’s delivered speech and discussed about the importance of 21st February and how can the students hold our culture and heritage.
A FIELD TRIP TO SUST-2023
Field trip provides entertainment for students. It often serves as a powerful motivator for students, stirring up excitement as the trip nears. Breaking away from the routine provides students with a refresher that might make them more focused back in the classroom. Students on field trips sharpen their skills of observation and perception by utilizing all their sense.
Every year Camellia Duncan Foundation School ( CDFS) arranges several field trips with an aim to provide the practical knowledge to the students. On 11th February 2023, all students along with teachers went to a field trip from kulaura to Shahjalal University of Science & Technology (SUST), Sylhet . They reached the destination at 1:30 pm and took lunch.
Few alumni students of CDFS also joined with us who are studying in SUST. Being the current students of SUST, they provide a lot of information to the students about SUST. They took up the students to the auditorium where the students performed dance and music. Beside these, teachers also took part in dancing with the students. Then all went to the Shaheed Minar. The central Shaheed Minar of the university is one of the most significant due to its natural beauty and architectural style. The Shaheed Minar is the main attraction of the students after entering the campus. To ascend the Shaheed minar from the plains, students had to cross 101 long stairs, which is divided into three flights in total. Then the students visited all departments and around the all campus.
Infact, the SUST is a unique in innovation, research and success as it is in natural beauty. It is built in the lap of nature away from the hustle and bustle of the city; this campus bears the mark of education, culture and architecture in the history, heritage and glory of the country. Through this field trip, students dreamt about studying in SUST and working for the nation. In a word, it is an outstanding field trip which was very enjoyable to the students.
ART WORKSHOP-23
A unique art workshop has been arranged in Camellia Duncan Foundation School (CDFS) on 13th & 14th January, 2023. All students part in this art workshop which was guided by ten new energetic artists who are studying in different university in Dhaka from arts department. It's also noteworthy that, this ten artist receive scholarship from Abu Subhan Welfare Trust (ASWT) that make easier the way of their higher education.
They divided all students into ten groups and taught them the idea associated with arts. They taught them about the basic idea of art, basic design landscape, still life, portrait of Rabindranath Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam etc. Every student completed their drawing before talking lunch and after lunch they painted color in their paintings, continuing till evening. They used acrylic color in their paintings.
The honorable headmaster and others teachers of school have inspected the activities of art workshop and encouraged them.
FIELD TRIP-2022
Field trips are a popular and well-established method of education. A field trip allows students and teachers to get out of the formal context of the classroom and cultivate shared experiences. CDF School arranged a field trip Oct 21, 2022, dividing the students into two groups and went to two different places. The students of class six and seven went out to a fishing to take a practical experiment over the life of fish.
The owner of the fishing is Doctor Mainul Islam Suhag. Despite being a doctor, he developed fishing as ahobby. Besides fishing, he planted many kinds of trees around the fisheries. The total fishiries is 13 acors, containing many kinds of fish such as Katla, Rui, Mrigel etc. The students have seen that fisheries are floating under crystal water. Many people are employed in his farm.
After reaching the tea factory, the assistant manager of Lungla Tea Garden described the processing of making the tea leaves. The students visited all the machine of factory and seen the processing of making tea leaves. There are 8 grades of tea leaves, these are PM, BOP, GPOB, PF, PD, Dust, RD and CD. After that the students went to the rubber tea factory. First time they have seen the processing of making rubber.
After all, it was an enjoyable field trip which enriched practical knowledge and made the students enthusiastic as well as this field trip took away monotony.
