On 23 September 2025, Camellia Duncan Foundation School held its annual Science Fair, where students from Classes 6 to 10 showcased their creativity and scientific spirit. The participants were divided into two groups: Group A (Classes 6–8) and Group B (Classes 9–10).

The fair was presided over by our respected Headmaster, while Mr. Saiful Islam, Deputy Manager of Lungla Tea Garden, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Both praised the students for their innovative projects and encouraged them to continue exploring science with curiosity and passion.

The projects presented by the students were both creative and thought-provoking. Class 10 emerged as the champions of Group B with their project on Bio Farming, while Class 6 claimed the top position in Group A with an engaging demonstration of the Water Cycle. The students of Classes 7 and 8 impressed the judges as well and were jointly declared runners-up in Group A for their projects on Renewable Energy and an Earthquake Detector. Meanwhile, Class 9 earned the runner-up position in Group B with their project on Free Energy.

The exhibition reflected not only scientific knowledge but also teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity. The event ended with great enthusiasm, leaving everyone inspired by the talent and innovation of our young learners.

Celebration of Independence Day and the 21st Anniversary of CDFS

The Independence Day of Bangladesh , celebrated annually on March 26, stands as a testament to the nation’s resilience and the indomitable spirit that led to its liberation from Pakistan in 1971. The day is celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotism every year to commemorate the declaration of independence from Pakistan on this day in 1971. The road to Bangladesh’s independence was marked by a long and difficult struggle.

Like every year, we celebrated the Independence Day and 21st anniversary of CDFS on 26th March, 2025. The program began with the hoisting of the national flag, national anthem and parade. After that, a theme song was sung by all students. On this day, Mr Simon Turner, Chairman, Camellia PLC, UK was present with us as a chief guest to celebrate the day.Mrs. Nasreen Subhan, Managing trustee, Abu Subhan Welfare Trust, M. Mustafizur Rahman, Managing Director, Duncan Brothers Bangladesh Limited, Mr. Pankaj Paul, Vice President, BCSU, Mr. Jakaria Ahmed, President, BTESA and managers from different tea gardens also joined us on this day. At first, honourable guests delivered speeches and two former students delivered speeches focusing the quality education of CDFS and their achievements. A colourful cultural program was held emphasizing the patriotic zeal of Bengali and represents the struggle of liberation war through performing dance, song and poem. Everyone enjoyed the program and they praised the students for their outstanding performances.

Annual Sports and Prize Giving Ceremony 24 at CDF School

CDF School hosted its grand Annual Prize-Giving Ceremony on January 26, 2025, celebrating academic excellence and showcasing the rich cultural talents of its students. The event, marked by excitement and enthusiasm, brought together students, faculty, and distinguished guests to honor the remarkable achievements of the year.

The ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of Mrs. Nasreen Subhan, Managing Trustee of the Abu Sobhan Welfare Trust, and our Chief Guest, Mr. M. Mostafizur Rahman, Executive Chairman of Duncan Brothers Bangladesh. We were also privileged to welcome distinguished trustees of the Abu Sobhan Welfare Trust, Dr. S. M. Akbar and Mr. Monsur Ahmed Choudhury, along with notable figures such as Mr. Anwarul Azim, former senior executive of Duncan Brothers and United Finance; Group Captain M. Nurullah, PSC, Principal of BAF Shaheen College; Bangladeshi singer Rebeka Sultana; renowned human rights activist and freedom fighter Aroma Dutta; expatriate cultural figure and retired teacher Mr. Shamim Rahman; and other distinguished guests. Their presence added immense value to the occasion, and we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all.

The ceremony began with heartfelt tributes to Mr. Peter Leggett, the visionary founder of CDF School, and Mr. Abu Sayeed Md. Obaidus Sobhan, whose dedication and commitment turned that vision into a reality. Their contributions were honored with deep respect and admiration.
Following the tributes, the event proceeded with a warm welcome speech by Mrs. Nasrin Sobhan, setting the tone for the celebration. The Chief Guest, Mr. M. Mostafizur Rahman, delivered an inspiring address, applauding the students for their academic excellence and extracurricular achievements, and providing valuable guidance for future endeavors.
The event's highlight was the cultural performance by the talented students of CDF School. The audience was treated to a captivating display of drama, poetry recitation, dance, and music, showcasing the diverse talents of the students. In addition, our honored guests presented awards to the winners of the annual sports competition, further celebrating the holistic development of the students.

The event concluded with a thoughtful closing speech by Mr. Nripendra Kumar Das, the Head Teacher of CDF School, who expressed gratitude to all attendees and participants.

The ceremony came to an end fitting close with a stirring performance by the renowned artist Rebeka Sultana, who beautifully rendered the iconic song "Ek Shagor Rokter Binimoye Banglar Swadhinata", leaving a lasting impression on all present.

CDF School’s Annual Prize-Giving Ceremony 2024 was a memorable occasion, reflecting the institution’s commitment to academic excellence, cultural enrichment, and community engagement. We look forward to continuing this tradition of celebrating student achievements in the years to come.
